Electrostatic Application

Paint wraps around the door with almost zero overspray. Clean enough for occupied lobbies.

Exact Colour Matching

Match original specification or update to a new interior colour scheme.

Minimal Disruption

Individual doors done in two to three hours. Most tenants won't even notice.

Why building managers and facilities teams choose Vanda

  • No lift downtime. Doors are sprayed in position. Nothing gets removed from runners or frames.
  • Almost zero overspray. The electrostatic process bonds paint evenly to the metalwork, clean enough for occupied lobbies.
  • Any colour you need. RAL, BS, or manufacturer-specific match. Consistent finish across every floor.
  • All door types. Stainless steel, powder-coated, and painted lift doors, each with the right surface prep.
  • Done in hours, not days. Each door takes two to three hours including prep and drying.
  • Full RAMS and £10m cover. Method statements and risk assessments before we start.

How we do it

Our four-stage process for every lift door spraying project.

Site Survey

We inspect door substrate, existing coating type and condition, and confirm the colour specification and coating system to be used.

Surface Preparation

Doors are degreased, fine-abraded and primed as required. Any scratches or impact marks are filled and feathered.

Masking

Door surrounds, lift interiors and adjacent surfaces are fully protected before electrostatic application.

Topcoat and Final Inspection

Coating is applied via electrostatic spray gun for an even, factory-quality finish. All surfaces inspected before masking removal.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about our lift door spraying service.

Can you coat stainless steel lift doors?

Yes. Stainless steel requires specific adhesion primers, but it can be painted to a high standard using the correct preparation and coating system.

What is electrostatic painting?

Electrostatic painting applies a charge to the paint particles, which are attracted to the grounded metalwork surface. This produces even coverage with minimal overspray, making it ideal for confined spaces.

How long does each door take?

Individual lift doors can be completed in two to four hours including preparation, application and initial cure. Full projects are planned to minimise lift downtime.

Can you match the existing colour exactly?

Yes. We colour-match to RAL, BS and NCS references, or from physical samples where the original specification is unavailable.

Do you provide works in occupied buildings?

Yes. Electrostatic painting is suited to occupied environments due to its controlled overspray. We can work during or outside office hours as required.
