Project summary

The client required a full interior redecoration of a commercial office in London as part of a fit-out refresh. The existing painted surfaces were marked, uneven and in need of a clean, uniform finish to bring the interior up to a professional standard consistent with the building's common areas and meeting rooms.

Vanda Coatings were engaged to deliver the works using airless spray application, which produces a significantly smoother and more consistent result than roller on the flat and lightly textured surfaces throughout the space. Works were phased to allow the business to remain operational, with overnight and weekend access used for the primary areas.

  • Full surface preparation: cleaning, filling and priming as required
  • Walls and ceilings spray coated in specified white and off-white tones
  • Partition metalwork and frames recoated in contrasting colour
  • All floors and fixed furniture fully masked and protected
  • Low-VOC, water-based coatings throughout for occupied environment compliance
  • Phased programme, building operational throughout

In progress

Protection and masking is a critical part of every interior spraying project. Floors, glazing, furniture and all fixtures are fully covered before spray application begins. Our operatives use appropriate respiratory protection and ensure adequate ventilation in line with COSHH requirements throughout.

The use of airless spray equipment allows us to maintain an even film build across large areas quickly, reducing the overall programme time and minimising the period of disruption to the client.

Project outcomes

What the client achieved by choosing spray application over conventional brush and roller decoration.

No brush or roller marks

Airless spray gave a smooth, even coat across every wall, ceiling and partition. No stipple, no lap marks, no touch-ups needed.

Staff in, painters in

We worked evenings and weekends around the client's schedule. No one missed a day of work.

Done in half the time

Spraying covers large areas far quicker than rolling. The full scope was finished in roughly half the time a brush-and-roller crew would need.

Low-VOC throughout

Water-based, low-odour coatings used throughout, suitable for occupied office environments with normal ventilation.
