Vanda Coatings resprayed the aluminium curtain wall frames and window surrounds across multiple elevations of a commercial office building at Central Park, Manchester, delivering a uniform dark anthracite finish while the building remained fully occupied.

Project summary

The commercial office building at Central Park required a full colour refresh of the aluminium curtain wall frames and window surrounds. The existing coating had oxidised and the frames had faded inconsistently across different elevations, undermining the building's appearance and occupier appeal.

Vanda Coatings carried out a phased programme of works, masking glazing and building fabric on each elevation in turn before applying a two-pack acrylic topcoat in a dark anthracite specification. MEWP access was deployed on the principal entrance elevation and a mobile scaffold tower was used across the lower-level window sections.

What Central Park got from the respray

The building manager wanted a complete colour refresh without displacing tenants or replacing the curtain wall.

Ground floor, upper levels and entrance all match now. The inconsistent fading across different faces is gone.

We phased the work elevation by elevation and kept every entrance open. Office staff came and went as normal.

Two-pack acrylic topcoat over prepped aluminium locks out Manchester's rain and pollution. These frames will hold colour for years.
