The client required a full recoat of the shop front at their Edinburgh retail premises. The existing aluminium frames, fascia and entrance surround had faded and were no longer matching the current brand specification. A colour change was required to bring the unit in line with the refreshed brand identity.

How the project was delivered

Retail shop front recoating in a busy city centre location requires careful planning to protect passing pedestrians, maintain clear access for customers and keep the unit trading throughout. Vanda's team agreed a working schedule with the client in advance, carrying out the more disruptive preparation work outside trading hours and confining in-progress application to early morning and evening windows.

The substrate was degreased and abraded before an adhesion-promoting primer was applied across all aluminium surfaces. A two-pack acrylic topcoat in the specified colour was then applied by airless spray, with all glazing, signage and adjacent surfaces protected by paper and masking tape. The completed frames were inspected before masking was removed.
